You have a 57 million budget to buy 8 countries of which you think are going to win the most points in the Fantasy FIBA Basketball World Cup 2019.

The FIBA Basketball World Cup has 2 group stages and a knock-out stage (quarter-finals, semi-finalsand final). In the first group stage the 32 countries are divided into 8 groups (A, B, C, D, E, F, G, H) of 4 countries. All countries play 3 matches in the first group stage.

The top 2 from group A will join the top 2 from group B in group I. The top 2 from group C and D will join each other in group J. The top 2 from group E and F will join each other in group K and the top 2 from group G and H will join each other in group L.

In this second group stage the countries play 2 matches, against the teams they did not play before. The result from stage 1 against the team you played before is also added to the ranking in stage 2. After all matches are played in stage 2 the best two countries from group I, J, K and L will go to the quarter-finals.

In both group stages the countries earn points per match. They get 2 points per win and 0 points when they lose. When a game gets into OT (overtime), the losing team will still get 1 point. In the knockout stage you can win points by reaching the next round. For example: reaching the quarter-final will give a country 2 extra points.

An example: France wins all matches in the group stages. France scores 5 (3 and 2) x 2 points = 10 points. France will also get 2 points for reaching the quarter-finals, and when they go through to the semi-finals they will get another 6 points. If they lose the semi-final, they earned 10 + 2 + 6 = 18 points for your team.
